Sondra N. Barringer
Sondra N. Barringer is a fourth-year doctoral student at the University of Arizona Department of Sociology. Her research interests include higher education, organizations, nonprofits, and qualitative and quantitative methodology. She is currently working on a number of papers as well as her dissertation which concerns the nature of organizational identity in the field of higher education. Erica Coslor
Erica Coslor is an economic sociologist, currently researching pricing, distribution and valuation practices in the contemporary art market as a doctoral student at the University of Chicago. She will defend her dissertation, titled The Exchange Biography of Art: Value Construction, Rules of Exchange and Financial Investment Logics in the Market for Contemporary Art, this spring. Aside from the dissertation, she has a chapter forthcoming in the Research in Economic Anthropology book series, and an upcoming invited submission for the journal European Societies. Coslor’s background was in management and decision systems, with a master’s degree in public policy and management from the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. She has also worked as a part-time geographic information systems (GIS) consultant on projects such as land conservation planning at the Trust for Public Land in Chicago. Lindsey M. McDougle
Lindsey M. McDougle is a fourth-year doctoral student at the University of San Diego with research interests in nonprofit management, nonprofit and philanthropic studies education, and organizational leadership. Lindsey is currently a research assistant at the Caster Family Center for Nonprofit Research and serves on the research committee for the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA). Prior to pursuing doctoral studies Lindsey worked for IBM in Research Triangle Park, NC as an environmental and sustainability coordinator. She also interned at LMI, Government Consulting in McLean, VA in the Facilities, Environment and Asset Management division. Lindsey earned a BS in natural resource policy at The Ohio State University and a Master of Environmental Management at Duke University. Lindsey can be reached at lmcdougle [at] sandiego [dot] edu.
Jasmine McGinnis
Jasmine McGinnis is currently a Ph.D. student in Public Policy with a concentration in Nonprofit Management in a joint program at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State and the Ivan Allen College of Public Policy at Georgia Tech. She attended Emory University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. In 2006 Jasmine earned her Master of Public Administration from the University of Georgia and went to work in the nonprofit sector. Before entering the PhD program Jasmine served as the Senior Development Manager for Special Olympics Georgia. As a graduate research assistant at Georgia State, Jasmine works under Dr. Dennis Young and Dr. Shena Ashley on a number of topics related to grant making and its implications for policy. Her research interests also include workforce and board diversity in the nonprofit sector.
John C. Ronquillo
John C. Ronquillo is a doctoral candidate at the University of Georgia with research interests in public and nonprofit management, collaborative governance, social entrepreneurship and organizational innovation. His writings have appeared or will soon appear in Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Public Administration Review, the edited volume Handbook of Decision Making, and forthcoming edited volume Leadership in Nonprofit Organizations. He currently serves as the Social Networking Coordinator for the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA). Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, he worked as a Policy and Research Analyst and lobbyist for the Arizona Association of Counties. He earned a BA in journalism and mass communication and Master of Public Administration at Arizona State University. Olena Verbenko
Olena Verbenko is a fifth year Ph.D. student in Public Policy at the University of Chicago with a concentration in corporate finance and interests in social entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility, and microfinance. Olena is currently participating in the Net Impact’s Curriculum Change Initiative to incorporate socially and environmentally-focused classes and events into the curriculum at the Harris School. She is also involved in organizing the Chicago Microfinance Conference for the fourth year. Olena earned a BA and MA in applied economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
